Market slump continues
The slide in world markets continued as renewed fears of a protracted global recession dealt another blow to fragile investor confidence.
The FTSE 100 Index is trading below the 4,000 barrier after extending yesterday's 5% slump with a drop of 2%.
Meanwhile other European markets sustained further losses in response to new five-year lows seen on Wall Street last night.
