Stooges guitarist dies
The Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton has been found dead at his home in Michigan. He was 60.
Early indications suggest that Asheton had died of a heart attack.
Asheton and his brother, drummer Scott, were asked to form The Stooges by Iggy Pop in 1967. Their three albums from 1969-73 were unsuccessful at the time, but became revered later on. The band had toured since reforming in 2003.
